The use and maintenance of arc-shaped cast iron gates

1. Cast iron gates are mainly composed of:

(1) Door frame, (2) door body, (3) guide rail (small size connected to door frame, large size separated from door frame), (4) transmission screw, (5) lifting ear, (can also be integrated with door body), (6) sealing surface, (7) shaft guide frame, (8) opening and closing device, etc.

2. Working principle:

The gate frame and door body are installed underwater, while the guide rail is installed at the upper end of the door frame, ensuring that the door body moves vertically up and down along the door frame and guide rail within a certain stroke during operation.

Due to the fact that the gate works underwater, for ease of operation, an opening and closing device is installed underwater. Due to the inconsistent elevation of the gate, the length of the transmission screw and the setting of the shaft guide depend on its specific size (details can be found in our factory's product samples). The lifting ears, lifting blocks, and pin shafts are mainly used to connect the transmission screws to the door body, and the power source for the reciprocating motion of the door body comes from the opening and closing machine.

When working, rotate the handle of the opening and closing machine (electric opening and closing machine, only press the power switch button of the control box) to rotate the nut or screw worm gear, driving the transmission screw to work, making the door body move up and down relative to the door frame. At the same time, the wedge tightening device uses the working principle of the wedge block that can be tightened or loosened, so that when the door body descends to the set limit position, the door frame and the sealing seat surface of the door body can effectively fit together, playing a role in water interception.

When the door is fully opened upwards, the water is cleared; On the contrary, it is the deadline. If the water level needs to be adjusted due to work needs, it can also be partially opened and partially closed to achieve the purpose of dredging, cutting off, and regulating the water level. If a dual-purpose manual and electric hoist is used, users can refer to the electric device manual provided by our factory to adjust the opening and closing stroke of the gate. If a manual opening and closing machine is used, it can be manually closed or opened according to the on-site situation.

3. Usage and Maintenance

1. When using a manual gate operator to open and close the gate, the force should be even and not too strong to prevent damage to the positioning device.

2. When using a dual-purpose flashlight to open and close the gate, attention should be paid to:

a. When using electric opening and closing, check whether the hand crank is detached from the shaft to avoid injuring personnel during startup.

b. When using manual opening and closing, the power should be cut off, and the handle should be inserted into the hole to shake (or the electric mark on the electric device should be inserted onto the manual mark).

c. Add lubricating fluid to the bearings, transmission screws, nuts, etc. of the hoist every 2-3 months. During major maintenance, the bearing parts should be filled with butter.

d. The gate needs to be painted and anti-corrosion treated once a year.
